Now for the windows... Not just any old windows!
Picking the right windows was a really important decision for us to create a warm and healthy home. The windows we went with are designed to reduce heat loss and prevent drafts, creating a comfortable living environment for us and our family. We chose Reynaers Masterline 8 which are German windows, although we bought them through Fabian from N H Design and project management Limited.

Having thermally broken airtight windows installed in your new build can have many benefits. Not only will you save money on heating costs, but you will also create a healthier living environment. These windows are designed not only to prevent drafts but also to reduce the amount of pollutants entering your home, making it a cleaner and more comfortable place to live. No more crying windows for us!

As you probably can guess the installation of these windows are not like your typical Kiwi window installation. Although with the new building standards there is more taping and air tightness involved, we were instructed to install our windows with even more special taping and super diligent to get the complete air tightness that we are wanting for our home.

As you can see there is tape on the window prepared for install, once the windows are in place then there is more taping and foaming ect. I should have taken a video!
As with everything there are pros and cons..
So buying you windows from overseas can save you money as they are cheaper from Europe but you do have to pay for freight which adds a lot especially in a pandemic which was unfortunate for us but saying that the pros far out way the cons in my opinion.
Till next week... Yes more coming next week!
